In this critical period, children learn unconsciously from the impressions and interactions they gain from their environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, Pelita Hati Montessori School places an emphasis on establishing social courtesies, proper mannerisms and hands-on skills from a very early age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Playgroup program is designed with the aim of equipping young children with the following skills:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Independence \u2013 being away from parents for the first time<\/li><li>Mannerisms \u2013 when to say \u201cplease\u201d, \u201cthank you\u201d and \u201cI am sorry\u201d<\/li><li>Social courtesies \u2013 sharing, taking turns and queuing<\/li><li>Getting to know other similar-aged friends<\/li><li>Progressing from baby talk to simple sentences<\/li><li>Singing simple songs and rhyming<\/li><li>Practical life activities \u2013 dressing\/undressing, sweeping the floor, washing socks<\/li><li>Basic physical movements: crawling, jumping, moving sideways, hopping, climbing<\/li><li>Toilet training \u2013 stopping the use of diapers, expressing the need to go, understanding the process<\/li><li>Arts and crafts \u2013 painting, colouring, cutting, tearing<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the first 3 years of life, children\u2019s brain absorbs more information than at any other part of their lifetime.
